Please join us for our for the next Hash on Thursday April 10th! Meet in front of the Huntington Post office at 6:30pm.
The Hash House Harriers is an international group of running/social clubs that humorously refers to themselves as a drinking club with a running problem, which may sound familiar to many of us (just kidding). An event is known as a Hash or a Hash Run and it starts with a member laying out a trail for the remainder of the group to follow. Runners, called Harriers, follow the trail of single arrows occasionally arriving at a spot that has two diverging arrows, one of which will end about a quarter mile down that trail and requires a return to the intersection to follow the other arrow. Today these events usually end up at a bar, pub, or a cooler in a parking lot, but the original finish line was the Hash House hotel/restaurant where British soldiers, who founded this event to stay fit, lived while stationed in Malaysia in the 1930s.
